The Mental Health Monster is a purely fictional character that is out to harm people’s mental health, and we aim to prepare people as best as we can for their fight with it (through education and conversation). It stemmed from personal experiences with anxiety both as a teenager and now in that some of those physical affects are similar to what I imagine you’d feel if you were being chased by an actual monster.

However, it is time that we stop running from the Mental Health Monster. We need to turn around and fight it, it really does not have to be this huge scary thing. For how long are we going to just rebuild the metaphorical barricades every time they fall down?

We believe that everyone has a ‘Monster’ in a way, because it doesn’t just refer to mental health conditions. Your monster could be absolutely anything that is out to attack your mental health, no matter how large or small.
